KTown Rapid Response Training - Entrenamiento de Respuesta Rápida

  • Pilipino Workers Center 153 Glendale Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90026 United States (map)

The Koreatown Popular Assembly has launched a rapid response network to protect our neighborhood from ICE raids and deportations. Anyone can now call our hotline number 323-894-1504 to report immigration enforcement activity in the Koreatown area. If you want to join the network as part of the verification and observation team that will be first responders to reports of ICE or Border Patrol presence, then come to our next training on January 21st!

The goal of the Koreatown Rapid Response Network is to create an ICE-free Koreatown. Our rapid response network organizes neighbors to respond to ICE raids by joining together to disrupt ICE's ability to terrorize our neighborhood. This training focuses on the first steps of that response - the verification and observation of raids and detentions.

This event will be bilingual Spanish/English.

Anyone who wants to become a dispatcher for the rapid response network (answering phone calls and coordinating the raid response) should attend this first responder training and then come to the dispatcher training that will be on Wednesday, January 31, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We are in great need of more dispatchers, so please consider coming to this training, if you are bilingual in English and any other language spoken by immigrant communities in the greater Koreatown area.

This is a community oriented event. However, in order to keep this event safe, peaceful and nonviolent for everyone attending, we have a few guidelines we would like to share with you all.
Law enforcement of any kind or any elected official will NOT be allowed and will be asked to leave if present.
This event is also CLOSED to any person with ties to a white supremacist, anti-immigrant or neo-nazi organization. Anyone with ties to such organizations will not be allowed entrance and will be asked to leave.
Guns and weapons of any kind are also not allowed.
We will also not allow video or audio recording of any kind or any photography in the event.

We retain the right to bar entry to any individual for any reason, and to ask them to leave the event.

Thank you for your understanding!
